There are two airport in Johannesburg - OR Tambo International and Lanseria. Both have their pro's and con's, choosing between the two can often be as simple as going with the cheapest as both have car rental agencies on site.
These are the cases in which you might favour one above the other. OR Tambo is an international airport, so great if you have a connecting international flight. It is also connected to the Gautrain, making it quick and easy to get to Sandton or even Pretoria. Often you'll find more affordable flights to Lanseria, which is a smaller airport and offers cheaper parking if a friend or family member is picking you up. This is also closer to Pretoria, if you
have to drive.
